While not for every shooter short bolt-action pistols like the Christensen Arms Modern Precision Pistol are perfect for backpacking backcountry hunting or simply fun on the range. Part of the appeal of the Christensen Arms MPP is its light weight so for an optic I chose the Maven RS2 2-10x38mm which balances well with the MPP.

Until someone builds a much superior rifle the MPR is my first choice when my hunting shots are likely to be 300 yards or more.
